TWIN FALLS - The fifth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball had its 12-game winning streak snapped Friday, falling to Snow 7-2 in game one but bounced back to run rule the Badgers 10-2 in game two.
Golden Eagle miscues led to four unearned runs in the first game. On the offensive side, CSI managed just five hits. The combination proved to be too much to overcome.
CSI loaded the bases in the third inning with one out but could only plate one run. The Golden Eagles other run came in the fourth on a solo home run by
Abby Toller.
Skylar Cook was the only CSI player with more than one hit in the game.
In game two, the Golden Eagles gave up runs in the first and second inning and then shut the door and held the Badgers scoreless the rest of the way. CSI scored in every inning until Cook's two-out rbi single in the fifth scored
Madi Ford for the run rule.
Cook finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Cassidy Basinger was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI and Toller was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Last week's NJCAA Player of the Week
CheyAnne Dahl earned her sixth straight win in the circle. She gave up two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
CSI, now 14-7 overall and 9-2 in SWAC play, hosts Snow again Saturday at noon and 2 p.m.
