TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team had no answer for the Southern Nevada potent bats and steady pitching Saturday, falling to the Coyotes 12-0 and 12-2.
The Golden Eagles gave up seven runs in the third inning of game one due to hits, errors and walks and couldn't recover. Offensively,
Kody Garvin and
Jake Boyd were the only two players to get hits in the game.
Game two saw Southern Nevada jump on the board in the first inning with a two-out rally, started by a Coyote home run and ending with four runs in the inning. The Golden Eagles doubled their hit production from game one, finishing with four hits and scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth but not enough to send the game to the sixth. Boyd highlighted the offensive effort with a two-rbi hit.
CSI falls to 16-15 overall and 3-13 in SWAC play. The Golden Eagles host Salt Lake next Friday and Saturday.
