TWIN FALLS - With just three hits all game for the Golden Eagles, CSI freshman
Erin Emanuel made the most of her hit, powering a home run over the fence in the bottom of the seventh to give CSI the 2-1 win in the Golden Eagles opening game against Snow. CSI couldn't find the same magic in game two, falling 3-2.
Until the seventh inning of game one,
Madi Ford was the only player with a hit for the Golden Eagles. After a hit by pitch put
Abby Toller on base in the bottom of the seventh with CSI trailing 1-0, Emanuel hit the walk-off 2 rbi home run to give the Golden Eagles the win.
Kelsey Christensen earned the win, giving up just one run on four hits with five strikeouts.
In game two, CSI took a 2-1 lead after
Skylar Cook singled to right field and
Jaici Bishop followed with a home run. But that would be it for the Golden Eagle scoring. Snow added two runs in the sixth and CSI had no answer.
The Golden Eagles move to 19-8 overall and 10-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
