PRICE, Utah - Everything was working in game one Saturday for the Golden Eagles as they dominated USU Eastern 15-0 in a five-inning run rule. CSI couldn't continue the onslaught, falling in game two 13-5.
Alec West-Guillen shined on the mound for the Golden Eagles in the opener. He gave up just two hits with seven strikeouts, pitching a complete game. Offensively, six CSI players finished with two hits led by
Mason Hayes three-run home run and an RBI single.
Cody Schmidt was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI.
In game two, the Golden Eagles bats cooled off as
Kody Garvin and
Cole Walters each went 2-for-3 with one RBI. They were the only two with multiple hits.Â
CSI moves to 16-11 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
