TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team watched a 14-point first-half lead disappear Thursday but made sure it didn't happen in the second half, beating Snow 68-64 for the third time this season.
Earlier this season the Golden Eagles came from behind to beat the Badgers by one point and then escaped Ephraim with a double overtime win in their second meeting. This time it looked like CSI was going to roll early, jumping out to a 25-11 lead with seven minutes left in the first half. But Snow closed with a 19-3 run to take a four-point lead into the locker room at the half.
The Golden Eagles brought a renewed intensity into the second half. Both teams swapped leads until a
Pape Diatta 3-pointer with 6:51 left in the game put CSI up 53-52 and the Golden Eagles never trailed again.
Shaq Carr led CSI in points (21) and assists (10). He added six rebounds and three steals.
EJ Boyce knocked down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, scoring 14 points.
Ar'Mond Davis posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles improve to 21-8 overall and 9-5 in SWAC play. The win sets up a battle with Salt Lake Saturday for the two seed in next week's Region 18 Tournament. Whichever team wins on Saturday will claim the two spot. The loser will be the three seed.
