HENDERSON, Nev. - The 21st-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team avenged an early season loss Wednesday, beating Eastern Arizona 78-59.
The Golden Eagles lost to Eastern Arizona in overtime in the Midland Tournament. Wednesday there was no need for overtime as CSI used a 27-point second quarter to run away from the Gila Monsters.
Tiena Afu led CSI with 18 points and eight rebounds. The catalyst as usual was sophomore
Brianna Osorio. The guard finished with 14 points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals.
Other Golden Eagles in double-digit scoring included
Tori Anderson with 12 points and
Ariel Augustine with 10 points.Â
One key to the game was CSI's ability to take care of the ball. The Golden Eagles gave up just turnovers while forcing 17.
CSI, now 9-4 overall, plays Central Arizona at 1:30 p.m. MST Thursday in the final day of the College of Southern Nevada Tournament.
