HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team faced a different team than it planned Tuesday in the College of Southern Nevada Tournament but it made no difference as the Eagles rolled to a 97-41 victory.
On the schedule the Golden Eagles were supposed to play Lake Region but because of a snow storm, the North Dakota team was unable to fly out. Instead CSI took on the Las Vegas All Stars to open the tournament, dominating them from start to finish.
CSI was led by
Tiena Afu. The freshman post finished the game with 14 points and 19 rebounds. Teammate
Brianna Osorio was solid as well, posting 10 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Other Eagles in double-digit scoring included
Jamie Nielson with 11 points and
Ariel Augustine with 10 points.
CSI was dominant on the boards, out-rebounding the All Stars 68-28. The Eagles held the All Stars to just 19 percent shooting from the field and nine percent from beyond the arc.
The Golden Eagles take on Eastern Arizona at 6 p.m. MST Wednesday, a team they fell to earlier in the season in overtime.
