TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team answered everything Hillcrest Prep threw at the Eagles. But Hillcrest Prep had no answer for the extremely deep CSI team that dominated them 116-74 Friday in the Wright Physical Therapy/Idaho Central Credit Union Tournament.
Every Golden Eagle scored. Every Golden Eagle pulled down a rebound. The CSI bench scored 77 of the team's 116 points. CSI out-rebounded Hillcrest Prep 62-45 and forced Hillcrest Prep into 24 turnovers and gave up just 13.
The Golden Eagles knocked down 12 3-pointers led by
Josiah Barsh's four.
CSI's size inside was just too much. Big men
Jonathan Nwankwo,
Roche Grootfaam and
Mubarak Muhammed combined for 34 points and 25 rebounds. Nwankwo led the way with the double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds).
The Golden Eagles, riding a nine-game winning streak, hosts Gillette College who is undefeated in the championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Expect a special evening with CSI honoring military as well.
Earlier Friday, Gillette beat Williston State 103-79.
