TWIN FALLS - College of Southern Idaho Head Women's Basketball Coach
Randy Rogers challenged his team to try and force 30 turnovers Saturday in the Hilex Poly Invitational. The Golden Eagles forced only 22 but the result of their pressure and stifling defense held Miles CC to just seven second-half points and no points in the third quarter. The result was a 68-39 win for CSI.
On the other end, the Golden Eagles took care of the ball, committing just 10.
CSI also benefitted on the offensive end, scoring 30 points off turnovers and 20 on fast-break opportunities.
The Golden Eagles finished the game with four players scoring in double-digits. Miles CC had no one.
Brianna Osorio led CSI with 15 points.
Tiena Afu added 14,
Ariel Augustine had 12 and
Tori Anderson 10.
Osorio added four assists and five steals. Afu posted a double-double with 10 rebounds. Augustine was also solid across the board, pulling down eight rebounds and adding two assists.
CSI, now 4-4 overall, host the Wright Physical Therapy/Idaho Central Credit Union Tournament Friday and Saturday.
