TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team used a deep bench and all its weapons in cruising past non-conference opponent Blue Mountain Friday in the Hilex Poly Invitational 93-46.
The Golden Eagles scored 60 of their 93 points off the bench, led by
Aushanti Potts Woods 21 points. The freshman knocked down 6-of-10 3-pointers on the night.
CSI shot 48 percent from the field compared to just 30 percent for Blue Mountain. Another statistic that stood out in the matchup was the Golden Eagles' dominance on the boards. CSI out-rebounded BMCC 51-32, led by
Jonathan Nwankwo's nine.
CSI used a stifling defense to force 22 turnovers and then was unselfish on the offensive end, finishing with 21 assists.
Danya Kingsby ended the game with six assists.
Charles Jones Jr. added five. Jones Jr. also had 12 points and four rebounds.Â
Every Golden Eagles that played finished with at least two points and one rebound and all but two players had at least one assist.
CSI, 6-1, play Treasure Valley Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Earlier Friday, TVCC fell to Planet Athlete 85-76.
