MIDLAND, Texas - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team battled all weekend, falling to 11th-ranked Midland 60-57, Arizona Western 72-60 and to 13th-ranked Eastern Arizona 79-72 in overtime.
The Golden Eagles had chances in all three games and they were able to be challenged which will help the young squad down the road.
Against the host Midland, CSI trailed by just one point in the final minute but a couple turnovers and a missed shot cost the Eagles an chance of upsetting the home team.
Tori Anderson led the offense with 17 points.
Brianna Osorio added 14. Osorio also had six assists and seven rebounds.
The Golden Eagles struggled to make shots, finishing the game shooting just 28 percent from the field and 17 percent from beyond the arc.
CSI shot the ball much better against Arizona Western but didn't take care of the ball, ending with 23 turnovers.
Tiena Afu led the Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Golden Eagles controlled the game through three quarters against Eastern Arizona but were outscored 19-14 in the fourth and then ran out of gas in overtime.
Osorio was solid again, finishing with 21 points, three steals and three rebounds.
Ariel Augustine added 16 points and six rebounds while
Abbie Povey had five points and nine rebounds.
The Golden Eagle bench scored just 11 points in the game.
CSI, now 2-4, hosts Treasure Valley and Miles CC Friday and Saturday in the Hilex Poly Invitational.
