TWIN FALLS - The fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team took care of business, beating USU Eastern 25-18, 25-18, 25-20 and Colorado Northwestern CC 25-13, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18 Friday and Saturday to win the Scenic West Athletic Conference title and hosting rights for the Region 18 Tournament Nov. 4-5.
Against USU Eastern, Ashelyn Jones finished with 12 kills to lead the Golden Eagles. Alycia Wodke added 10 kills and 13 blocks. Libero Luana Thompson led the defense with 16 digs.
In the Colorado Northwestern CC match, Wodke posted 24 kills and six digs. Jones added nine kills with no errors. Thompson had another solid match with 19 digs. Setter Marija Djonovic finished the match with two kills, 31 assists, two aces and seven digs.
The Golden Eagles finish the regular season with a 26-5 overall record and 9-1 SWAC record.
CSI opens the Region 18 Tournament Friday at 7 p.m. at home against the winner of USU Eastern and Southern Nevada.
