SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 6th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team jumped out to a 13-point lead against 4th-ranked Salt Lake CC, but couldn't hold on as the Bruins defeated the Golden Eagles 72-62 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
It was a mirror image of the two teams' first meeting but the outcome was swapped. In Twin Falls, Salt Lake took a big lead and watched it disappear as CSI handed Salt Lake its only loss of the season.
This time, the Golden Eagles led early but couldn't overcome a poor shooting perfromance. For the night, CSI shot just 29 percent from the field and 21 percent from beyond the arc. The only thing that kept CSI in the game was its free-throw shooting, where the Eagles made 20-of-24 from the line.
Kandiss Barber led CSI with 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Brianna Osorio added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles are now 22-3 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
