EPHRAIM, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team overcame a huge deficit Thursday to beat Snow College 106-98 in double overtime.
The Golden Eagles spotted the Badgers 18 points to start the game before they fought back to make it a competitive game.
With the game tied, CSI had the ball with eight seconds to play. The Golden Eagles got two good looks but couldn't knock down either to send the game into overtime.
Both teams went back and forth until Pape Diatta scored seven straight points to give the Golden Eagles a 78-71 lead with 31 seconds on the clock.
But the Golden Eagles gave up a 3-pointer, turned the ball over and gave up another 3-pointer and only 10 seconds came off the clock. Gloire Biongo went to the line for the Golden Eagles with 4.5 seconds to play and made one. Snow drove the length of the floor and layed it up to tie the game and send it into double overtime.
Again, both teams went back and forth until EJ Boyce buried a 3-pointer from the corner to put CSI up five with 38 seconds to play. This time the Golden Eagles maintained the lead and knocked down free throws for the final margin.
Nobody came up bigger tonight than Diatta who finished with 42 points and 14 rebounds. Shaq Carr and Ar'Mond Davis each added 24 points.Carr also had 9 assists and eight rebounds.
With the win CSI improves to 18-6 overall and 6-3 in SWAC play. Snow drops to 12-12 overall and 4-5 in conference action.
