TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team hit from long range in the first half and the free-throw line in the second half to beat USU Eastern 94-83 Thursday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup.
The Golden Eagles were on fire in the first from beyond the arc, knocking down eight 3-pointers.
EJ Boyce had four of them. He added a fifth in the second half.
But the deep ball wouldn't fall in the second half for CSI, as the Eagles hit just 1-of-8. So CSI started penetrating and either scored easy layups or got to the line. In the second half, the Golden Eagles finished 18-of-22 from the free-throw line. And
Shaq Carr who had just four points at the half finished the game with 22 points, 10 from the line.
Carr added seven assists and five rebounds.
Pape Diatta posted a double-double, scoring 11 points to go with 10 rebounds.
CSI, 16-6 overall and 4-3 in SWAC play, host Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 5 p.m.
