TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team made it a clean sweep Saturday in the Starr Corporation Invitational by beating #15 Hutchinson CC 25-16, 25-18, 25-21 and Chemeketa CC 25-23, 25-17, 25-15.
The Golden Eagles finished the tournament 4-0. Every other team had at least one loss.
Against Hutchinson, CSI used a dominating attack in the middle.
Tawnee Luafalemana and
Larissa Dos Santos each committed just one hitting error. Luafalemana finished with 14 kills and three blocks, while Santos had 12 kills and two blocks. Libero
Luana Thompson and
Alexandra Espinosa led the defense, each posting 12 digs.
In the final match of the tournament, CSI's
Alycia Wodke finished with a double-double (10 kills, 11 digs). Santos added 10 kills and three blocks, while Luafalemana had 9 kills and five blocks. Setter
Regan Harr earned 33 assists distributing the ball and Thompson finished with 10 digs.
The Golden Eagles travel to Miami Friday and Saturday to play in the Miami-Dade Tournament. On Monday, CSI hosts Treasure Valley CC at 6 p.m.
