TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team took a 4-3 lead into the top of the fifth Saturday against Southern Nevada but couldn't hold on as the Coyotes scored three in the top of the fifth and rolled from there beating CSI 12-4 in the nine-inning game.
CSI pitchers gave up only five earned runs but the pressure was on the defense all game as Southern Nevada finished with 17 hits and three walks.
The Golden Eagles threw five different pitchers. The Coyotes threw two.
At the plate,
Bodie Cooper was the only Golden Eagle with more than one hit, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Cameron Coombs finished the day with 2 rbi on a 1-for-4 showing at the plate.
CSI hosts Salt Lake CC Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 2 p.m. for a doubleheader and Saturday at noon. The Golden Eagles stand in fourth at 14-14. Salt Lake is just two games ahead in second at 16-12.
