TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team fell to Utah State University Eastern 10-2 before beating the Golden Eagles of Price 3-1 in the final game of the series Saturday.
CSI's
Makay Nelson pitched a gem in the opening game for the Golden Eagles, giving up just six hits in five innings and one earned run. But CSI's defense struggled all game. The Golden Eagle pitching staff combined to give up just one earned run of the 10 total runs due to six CSI errors.
At the plate,
Jordan Freese was 1-for-1 with a double,
Mikey Ortega was 1-for-3 with 1 RBI and
Kody Garvin was 1-for-3 with an rbi double.
CSI bounced back defensively in game two, committing just one error.
Braxton Deveraux earned the win, going 5.0 innings and giving up three hits and one earned run.
Tyler Burdett came in for the save, going two innings and giving up not runs, hits or walks.
Garvin hit the ball well again, finishing 2-for-3 with one rbi.
Harrison Ramey and
Joey Rossi were each 1-for-2.
The Golden Eagles host league-leading Southern Nevada Thurday, Friday and Saturday.
