TWIN FALLS - The 5th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team was one out away from guaranteeing at least three wins over #2 Salt Lake Saturday but a couple errors and a timely Bruin hit in the seventh inning doomed the Eagles as they fell 2-1 in game one and then lost game two 9-3.
Kami Merrill dominated in the cirlce for CSI in game one, giving up just four hits and no earned runs in the loss.
Markii Ashton finished the game 2-for-3 with 1 RBI for CSI.
In game two,
Amanda Sheets went 2-for-4 with a home run and
Shea Ibrahim finished 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and her 13th home run of the season.
WIth the losses, the Golden Eagles drop a 1/2 game behind Salt Lake in the standings.
CSI hosts Western Nevada Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon for doubleheaders.
