TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho softball team rode the pitching performances of
Kami Merrill and
Kelsey Christensen to beat #2 Salt Lake CC 4-2 and 4-3 Friday.
Kami Merrill won game one in the circle, giving up just five hits and two earned runs. Christensen followed her performance getting the win in game two, giving up just six hits with five strikeouts and two earned runs.
At the plate,
Marissa Johnson and
Savannah Kirkpatrick both went 2-for-3 at the plate. Johnson added two RBI in game one.
In Game two, Johnson and Kirkpatrick both went 2-for-3 at the plate again with one RBI apiece.
The Golden Eagles moved into first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference with the wins. They host Salt Lake again Saturday in a doubleheader starting at noon.
