TWIN FALLS - USU Eastern knocked down a 3-pointer with seven seconds left to play to take the one-point lead and eventually the 93-92 win over the College of Southern Idaho women Saturday.
The Golden Eagles had a chance to take the 3-point lead with 10 seconds left in the game but a
McClain Williams free throw fell off the rim. Then CSI had another chance when
Rachelle Owens drove the length of the floor with seven seconds to play but lost control and CSI couldn't get a shot off.
The difference in the game came beyond the arc, where USU Eastern knocked down 13 3-pointers compared to six for CSI.
Still,
Elisabet Lopez Sagrera had a career night for the Eagles. She finished with 30 points, 14 rebounds and four asssits.
Holly Blades also posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Denajha Kie was solid as well, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Samantha Lubcke added 15 points, seven assists and eight rebounds.
The Golden Eagles were tied for second heading into today's game with Snow College. The Badgers played Salt Lake today.
CSI plays its final two games next weekend at Snow and Salt Lake.
