TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team swept Boise State University Club team 9-1 and 14-0 Saturday in a non-conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles are off to a blazing start, finishing the first two weekends 7-1 overall.
In game one,
Mason Hilty earned the win on the mound, going 6.0 innings and giving up just three hits. He struck out nine. At the plate,
Cody Schmidt was 1-for-1 with two RBI and a home run.
Harrison Ramey was 2-for-3 with one RBI and
Cody Jenkins was 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
The Golden Eagles kept up the hot bats in game two as
Bodie Cooper went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Schmidt continued to swing it, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double. For the game, CSI had 13 hits.
Parker Loutensock earned the win on the mound, going 3.2 innings and giving up just one hit with seven strikeouts.
CSI travels to Henderson next week to take on league teams but the games will not count toward conference standings just non-conference.
