ST. GEORGE, UTAH - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team got off to a hot start, scoring 46 runs in four games. The Golden Eagles beat Northeastern 19-1, 15-8, 11-10 before falling to Northeastern 10-1 in the final game.
Leading the way at the plate was Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week
Bodie Cooper. The Golden Eagles catcher/DH finished the weekend 6-11 at the plate with two doubles and two home runs, including a grand slam. He posted 12 RBI and four walks.
Cole Walters also had a great weekend at the plate. The shortstop was 9 for 17 at the plate with four RBI and five runs scored.
As a team, CSI hit .336.
On the mound,
Zack Draper had a solid performance in game one, going five innings and giving up three hits with five strikeouts and no earned runs to get the win.
CSI hosts Utah State Club Team Friday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader and Boise State Club Team Saturday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
