TWIN FALLS - The fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team struggled to hit a shot in the first half Saturday of the Coca Cola Invitational but the Eagles turned up the defensive pressure and scored easy buckets to pull away and beat Williston State 74-55.
CSI trailed 34-23 at the half, shooting just 25 percent from the field compared to 41 percent for Williston. The tables turned in the second half as the Golden Eagles shots 53 percent to 26 percent for the Tetons.
Leading the way defensively was
Brianna Osorio. She finished the game with six steals along with 14 points and four rebounds.
Kandiss Barber led all players with 21 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Samantha Lubcke added 12 points and nine rebounds while
Alexia Mefi had eight points and 10 rebounds. Point guard
Anna Jofresa also had a solid game, posting six points, seven assists and four steals.
The Golden Eagles improve to 4-0 overall with the win.
In the earlier game, Athleticz Allianz beat USU Eastern 86-68.
