PRICE, Utah - It wasn't pretty but the second-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team earned at least a share of the Scenic West Athletic Conference title with a 23-25, 27-25, 25-17, 25-12 win over USU Eastern Friday.
The Golden Eagles play just one more regular season match and hold a one-match lead over Salt Lake CC. If CSI beats Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 1 p.m. then the Golden Eagles would be the outright winner. Win or lose CSI will host the Region 18 Tournament Nov. 6 and 7 because the Golden Eagles hold the tiebreak over SLCC.
Against USU Eastern, the Golden Eagles started slow but finished strong to pull out the victory.
Alycia Wodke led CSI with 20 kills and 13 digs.
Tawnee Luafalemana added 14 kills and three blocks. Libero
Luana Thompson posted 22 digs for the Golden Eagles, while
Regan Harr added 47 assists and nine digs.
