TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team followed up a rough morning match against Snow College to dominate North Idaho 25-21, 25-23, 25-12 in the Region 18 Championship Saturday.
Both teams advance to the NJCAA National tournament. The Cardinals defeated Salt Lake CC in straight sets earlier Saturday to earn their spot in the championship match against CSI.
But the final match was all Golden Eagles.
CSI posted a .269 hitting percentage compared to .127 for North Idaho. Leading the way was
Alexandra Espinosa who finished the match with 12 kills and just two errors.
Alycia Wodke added 10 kills and nine digs.
Tournament MVP
Tawnee Luafalemana had another solid match, finishing with seven kills, seven blocks and two aces.
Joining Luafalemana on the all-tournament team was Espinosa. Other members included Snow's Sydnie Martindale, Salt Lake's Jessica Quayle, and North Idaho's Brenna Meehan and Brittany Gay.
CSI will travel to the NJCAA National Tournament Nov. 19-21 in Casper, Wyo.
