TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho started a little slow Saturday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup with Snow College but grew stronger as the match wore on, defeating the Badgers 25-21, 25-19, 25-16.
The Golden Eagles used a balance attack and great defense by libero
Luana Thompson to keep Snow at bay.
Kendall Brock, back into the rotation after sitting out with an injury, led the Eagles with 13 kills and just two errors. She added two blocks.
Alycia Wodke was the only other CSI player in double digit kills with 11.
Alexandra Espinosa tallied eight kills and
Larissa Dos Santos added seven.
Thompson finished the match with 16 digs to lead the Eagles. Espinosa added seven.
The Golden Eagles hit .330 for the match compared to .154 for Snow. CSI saved the best for last, finishing the third set with 17 kills and three errors on 25 attempts for a .560 hitting percentage.
CSI hosts Western Wyoming Monday at 6 p.m. for its final regular season match. We will honor the sophomores before the match.
