COUER D'ALENE, Idaho - The second-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team avenged its only Scenic West Athletic Conference loss by beating North Idaho 25-19, 25-22, 25-27, 28-26 Saturday.
With the win, the Golden Eagles put themselves in the driver's seat to host the Region 18 Tournament. CSI improved to 7-1 in the conference standings. Salt Lake is close behind at 6-2 with North Idaho in third at 5-3. CSI finishes the season hosting Southern Nevada and Snow Friday and Saturday before traveling to Colorado Northwestern and USU-Eastern.
CSI looked strong early against North Idaho winning the first two games and taking a 24-20 lead in game three. But the Cardinals fought back on their home court to take thid third game and push the Golden Eagles in game four before CSI closed it out for the win.
Tawnee Luafalemana led CSI with 19 kills and just one error. She added seven blocks and three digs.
Alexandra Espinosa posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs.
Luana Thompson led the defense with 24 digs.
Regan Harr finished the match with 44 assists and 12 digs.
The Golden Eagles, now 24-3 overall, host Southern Nevada Friday at 7 p.m. and Snow College Saturday at 1 p.m.
