TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team avenged an early season loss to USU Eastern, beating the Golden Eagles from Price 82-66 Saturday and moving into sole possession of third place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference race.
The Golden Eagles defensive pressure was key all game, holding USU Eastern to just 28 percent from the field and 26 percent from beyond the arc.
Samantha Lubcke dominated inside for the Golden Eagles, finishing with 20 points, 16 rebounds and four steals. Teammate
Denajha Kie had a big night too, socring 16 points to go with nine rebounds and nine assists.
Other CSI players in double-digit scoring included
Holly Blades with 14 and Elisabet Lopez-Sagrera with 15. Sagrera added 5 assists.
CSI improved to 14-9 overall and 5-3 in SWAC play.
The Golden Eagles host Salt Lake Thursdsay and Snow Saturday. Currently Salt Lake is in first and Snow in second.
