HENDERSON, Nev. - The 19th-ranked College of Southern Idaho fell to seventh-ranked Seward County and sixth-ranked Eastern Arizona Sunday and Monday in a non-conference tournament hosted by Southern Nevada College.
The Golden Eagles fell to Seward County 61-59 Sunday before an ice-cold first half shooting performance doomed them against Eastern Arizona in a 67-40 loss Monday.
Against Seward,
Elisabet Lopez Sagrera led CSI with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Denajha Kie added 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and four assists.
In the Eastern Arizona matchup, the Golden Eagles managed just 13 first-half point, hitting only five field goals. Even though CSI shot better in the second half, it couldn't overcome the deficit it created. The Golden Eagles out-rebounded the Gila-Monsters but committed 33 turnovers.
The only CSI player to score in double figures was Kie with 10 points. She added six rebounds.
The Golden Eagles, now 10-7 overall, play a non-conference matchup Saturday at Treasure Valley at 5:30 p.m.
