EPHRAIM, Utah - The 25th-ranked College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team took its biggest lead of 11 points with less than three minutes to play and held on to beat #12 Snow College 61-52 Thursday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles led most of the game but the Badger hung around, closing within 57-51 at the 1:21 mark. But
Holly Blades sunk four free throws in the last 42 seconds to secure the win.
Blades was key for CSI all game, finishing with 26 points, six rebounds, two assists and five steals. Teammate Danajha Kie also had a big game, posting 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Golden Eagles dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Bagers 44 to 32, 17 of them coming on the offensive end.
Samantha Lubcke led CSI with 11 to go with nine points.
The win puts CSI in a tie for first in the SWAC at 3-1 with Salt Lake and Snow. The Golden Eagles, 12-7 overall, travel to #15 Salt Lake Saturday.
