SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team is one step closer to returning to the NJCAA National Tournament. The Golden Eagles defeated North Idaho College 58-52 Satuday in the Region 18 Championship and now host a bi-regional Tuesday with a berth at nationals on the line.
The fourth-ranked Golden Eagles trailed much of Saturday night's contest, moving ahead late in the second half and hanging on for the win.
Luke Cothron and
Fabyon Harris led CSI in scoring with 14 points apiece.
Gerson Santo led the Eagles with 11 rebounds. Cothron earned Region 18 all-tournament honors and Golden Eagles
Rafriel Guthrie was named tournament MVP.
CSI will host Arizona Western Tuesday at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Reserved seatholders will be able to purchase their seat tickets Monday between noon and 7 p.m. at the CSI Athletic Office. Any leftover reserve seats will go on sale Tuesday at 9 a.m. All tickets - reserved and general admission - will be just $5.
