CSI Volleyball suffers first conference loss of 2026

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 12th-ranked CSI Volleyball team dropped their first conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 29-27, 14-25, 21-25, 24-26 at the hands of USU-Eastern.
Fresh off the heels of a dominant win in their conference opener the night before, it was a different story for the Golden Eagles today, who narrowly won the first set, but then dropped the next three to split the weekend with the Eagles.
The Golden Eagles were their own worst enemy in the loss, as they made 19 service errors and had 29 attack errors leading to a .142 hitting percentage.
USU-Eastern on the other hand, was far more efficient than a night ago, as they hit .223 as a team with 51 total kills.
Emma Pannell led the way for the Golden Eagles with 13 kills and pitched in 11 digs, while Vivian Goto had 12 kills and matched with 11 digs. Nana Lobzhanidze was the only other Golden Eagle to finish in double figures with 10 kills. Dalayni Brindley once again led the Golden Eagles with 24 assists while Emerson Heatwole had 17 digs in the loss.
The Golden Eagles will now hit the road for the first time in conference play, as they will head to Reno, Nevada to take on Truckee Meadows on Friday October 2nd.
