SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The CSI Men's Soccer team rode a strong defensive effort to a scoreless draw against 4th-ranked Salt Lake on Saturday afternoon, a strong result against one of the nations best teams.
The Golden Eagles, who have now only surrendered one goal in their last three contests, hung in there all day despite not having a ton of opportunities offensively. The Bruins outshot the Golden Eagles 11-3 and 5-1 in shots on goal.
Ilan Portejoie had the lone shot on goal for the Golden Eagles, while
Wilf Douglas and
Pablo Garcia Fernandez de la Castro had the other two shots on the day.
Lasse Brier was a force in goal for the Golden Eagles, making five saves to salvage the scoreless result.

Juan Porto Pascual,
Felipe Argento, and
Enrique Nevarez were all issued yellow cards in the match. This was only the second time in eight games that Salt Lake did not emerge victorious, as they also drew with USU-Eastern who the Golden Eagles lost a one goal affair to on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles, now 2-2-1, will return home for a five game home stand, beginning with a match against Colorado Northwestern, scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
