COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The 18th-ranked CSI Volleyball team finished their opening weekend unscathed as they defeated Western Nebraska 25-17, 25-21, 25-15 to remain unbeaten on the young year.
The Golden Eagles had a balanced scoring attack all game long, as Brynlee Bybee led the way with nine kills, while
Reese Hills and
Bilge Avcu each chipped in six.
Emma Pannell,
Nana Lobzhanidze and Jesslyn Furniss each finished the game with four kills. Defensively, the Golden Eagles were well balanced as well, with Bybee and
Dalayni Brindley leading the team with six digs apiece. The Golden Eagles also finished with seven service aces as Furniss and
Vivian Goto each had a pair to lead the team.
The win caps off a 4-0 start to the 2026 season as the Golden Eagles now gear up for the Salt Lake Community College Crystal "Inn"vitational next weekend where they will square off with two more nationally ranked foes, beginning with their opening game where they will take on 19th-ranked New Mexico Junior College, Friday, August 28th, at 9:00 a.m.
