CSI Volleyball kicks off 2026 campaign with ranked win

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - One game into the 2026 campaign and the College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team has already picked up a ranked win as they knocked off 15th-ranked Indian Hills Community College 25-15, 25-23, 27-25 in the first night of the Iowa Western tournament. 
The 18th-ranked Golden Eagles were on the attack all game long as they notched double digit kills in all three sets, saving their best for last with 15 in the final set. Brinley Bybee led the way with 11 kills, while fellow freshman Bilge Avcu pitched in eight. Dalayni Brindley and Mary Irwin totalled 33 of the Golden Eagles 34 assists as Brindley finished with 18 and Irwin with 15. Emerson Heatwole had a team high 17 digs, while Brindley also accounted for 11 digs and three blocks. 
"This was a great first win for us tonight against a great program," said CSI Head Coach Andria Parker. "We were composed and in control from start to finish and the girls seemed to be finding their groove." 
The Golden Eagles will be right back in action tomorrow in Council Bluffs, as they will take on the host school, Iowa Western, at 12:30 p.m. MT and 3rd-ranked Northeastern Junior College at 5:30 p.m. MT.
