TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 24th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team beats 18th-ranked Salt lake CC 9-4 and 13-8 Friday on the opening weekend of Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 28 hits on the day.
In game one both
Adi Hansen and
Camryn Guest were 3-for-4 at the plate.
Alyce Archuleta was 2-for-2 with two walks and
Lily Heitz and
Maile Ha'o each had a double.
Anslie Yazzie hit CSI's lone home run.
In the circle
Emerson Fuller got the win, pitching all seven innings and giving up four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead but Salt Lake tied it in the top of the fifth. CSI countered with three more in the bottom of the fifth and didn't trail again.
Rilyne Keck was 5-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. Kyle Carrell was 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI.
Lexi Crowley was 2-for-3 with a double and Guest had a two-RBI triple.
Ella Farell got the win in the circle, pitching the final 2.2 innings and giving up two earned runs on six hits.
Marissa Mauger pitched the first 4.1 innings, giving up five earned runs with two strikeouts.
CSI, 10-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play, hosts Salt Lake for two more on Saturday.
