RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho came from behind on a three-run home by
Trey Purser to beat Colorado Northwestern 13-11 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles trailed 11-6 going into the eighth inning. They pulled within one with four runs in the eighth. That set up the ninth inning.
Noah Gatti got on with a hit by pitch and
Cade Burnham walked to set up the Purser fireworks. With two outs, he hit his 12th home run of the season to give CSI its final lead.
Tayson Howard finished 3-for-6 with a double and
Crew Secrist was 3-for-6 with a double and four RBI.
Stockton Fowlks was 2-for-5.
Jackson Gardner got the win, pitching two innings and giving up no runs on one hit with three strikeouts.
Kaleb Doty earned the save pitching the final out.
CSI, 31-6 overall and 7-1 in conference, hosts Salt Lake next week.
