TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The sixth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team beat USU Eastern 66-63 in overtime to win the Scenic West Athletic Conference regular season title.
Trailing by two with 11 seconds to play in regulation, the Golden Eagles tied the game on a layup by
Ashley Garner. Neither team was able to score again, sending the game into overtime.
Both teams battled back and forth in overtime with CSI clinging to a 64-63 lead with12 seconds to go. After a big rebound by
Savannah Stoker, USU Eastern had to foul, putting
Samara Morrow on the line. The sophomore hit both with six seconds to play to give the Golden Eagles the final tally.
Stoker led the Golden Eagles with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Ashley Garner added 15 points ad 16 rebounds and Morrow had 15 points, four assists and five steals.
Other key players included
Chloe Jensen with eight points and three rebounds and
Ziah Greybull with four points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
CSI, 26-3 overall and 12-2 in conference play, will finish out the regular season with a game Saturday against Snow College before hosting the Region 18 Tournament March 13-14.
