SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 10th-ranked CSI Volleyball suffered a tough one at the hands of 2nd-ranked Salt Lake Friday night, falling in straight sets 20-25, 9-25, 17-25.
In a highly touted pair of conference games, the Golden Eagles were never able to gain any momentum, finishing the night with more attack errors than kills. Salt Lake on the other hand, was very efficient, hitting .387 as a team. The Golden Eagles had season lows in just about every category including kills, assists and hitting percentage.
Bilge Avcu was the lone Golden Eagle to finish with a positive hitting percentage as she had four kills on 11 attempts.
Emerson Heatwole led the team with 10 digs, while the setter pair of
Dalayni Brindley and
Mary Irwin each had six assists a piece.
The Golden Eagles will have an opportunity to bounce back tomorrow as they square off with the Bruins once more, looking to salvage a split, and work their way back into a tie for first place in the Scenic West.
