YUMA, Ariz. - The 25th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team lost to 24th-ranked Arizona Western 8-2 before run ruling the Matadors 13-1 in game two on Friday.
CSI squared up some balls in the first game off All-American Jessica Smith but couldn't string any together.
Rilyne Keck was 2-for-3 with an RBI,
Lily Heitz was 1-for-3 with a double,
Lexi Crowley was 1-for-2 and
Anslie Yazzie was 1-for-3.
Emerson Fuller took the loss, going 2.1 innings and giving up five runs.
Ella Farrell pitched the final 3.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI.
Heitz had a big game, going 2-for-4 with a double and grand slam. Crowley was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBI and
Camryn Guest was 1-for-3 with two RBI and three stolen bases.
Shyann Banasky was 1-for-2.Â
Marissa Mauger was dominant in the circle. The sophomore gave up just two hits and one run in her six innings for the win.Â
CSI, 1-1, plays Arizona Western again Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
