COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The 13th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team opened the Scenic West Athletic Conference race with a 82-65 win over North Idaho on Saturday.
Both teams were in a first-half defensive battle as CSI took the 32-22 lead at the half but the teams heated up in the second half with the Golden Eagles scoring 50 and NIC 43.
Jalen Lyn had just two points at the half but finished the game with 31, sparking the Golden Eagles in the second half.
Ben Thornbrue was the only other CSI players to finish with double digits, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Both
Nathan Ahner and
Ace Reiser posted solid lines. Ahner had nine points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Reiser had six points, three rebounds, five steals and two assists.Â
Off the bench,
Guygustone Kasenga had six points and five rebounds and
Kobe Kesler had five points and four rebounds.
CSI, 15-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, travels to Colorado Northwestern and Salt Lake CC next week.
