TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The seventh-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball battled to two wins Saturday, beating Eastern Wyoming 25-16, 25-22, 25-22 and Central Wyoming 25-22, 17-25, 25-14, 25-21.
The Golden Eagles rolled in the first match and spread the offense throughout the team.
Mina Benucci led the way with nine kills but
Ava Pond and
Isabel Smart each had eight and
Vivian Goto added seven.
Dalayni Brindley had a team-high 25 assists along with seven digs.Â
Zeynep Balci and
Ava Pond were a force at the net with Balci posting five blocks and Pond four. On defense,
Hazuna Akishige had 10 digs and Goto had 11.
CSI's second match was a battle.
Four different players finished in double-figure kills, three had double-figure digs and two had double-figure assists.
Smart led with 14 kills. Benucci had 13, Goto 11 and
Ashlee Stanger 10.
On defense, Akishige finished with 20 digs, Brindley had 11 and
Emerson Heatwole added 10.
Brindley posted 37 assists in the win, while
Samara Hopoate had 11.Â
The two middle blockers - Balci and Benucci - combined for nine blocks.
CSI hosts Western Wyoming in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
