TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho won the series with Salt Lake CC by taking two games Saturday 20-4 and 8-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles used the long ball in game one to dominate the Bruins.
Courtney Christiansen and
Ava Howell each hit two home runs and then
Kelsie Jensen,
Anslie Yazzie,
Alyce Archuleta,
Rilyne Keck and
Lexi Crowley each had one home run.
Crowley's was a grand slam.
In the circle,
Emerson Fuller got the win, giving up four runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
In game two,
Marissa Mauger didn't need much run support. The freshman pitched all six innings, giving up no runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
At the plate, Keck was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Yazzie was 3-for-3 with two RBI and Howell was 1-for-2. Christiansen,
Caroline Simpson and
Kyli Carrell were all 1-for-1.
CSI, 27-14 overall and 20-4 in conference play, hosts Snow College next week.Â
