TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team pulled within five points late in the second half but couldn't complete the comeback, falling to 16th-ranked Odessa College 73-66 Saturday in the Wright PT Shootout.
The Golden Eagles trailed by as much as 16 points in the first half and 13 at the half before out-scoring Wrangler 34-28 in the second half.
In a very physical game CSI shot just 35 percent from the field and Odessa 40 percent.
Ace Reiser led the Golden Eagles with 18 pts, five rebounds and five assists.
Ben Thornbrue added 16 pts, five rebounds and four blocks. The only other CSI player in double-figure scoring was
Cooper Kesler with 11 points. He also had four rebounds.
Both
Jalen Lyn and
Charlie Dimmock finished with nine points and five rebounds.
Off the bench,
Kobe Kesler had six rebounds and two assists and
Guygustone Kasenga had three points, four rebounds and three blocks.
CSI, 10-1 overall, goes on the road to Arizona next week.
