TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 17th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team took care of business Thursday, beating Western Wyoming 81-62 on the first day of the Battle for the Boot Tournament.
With the win, the Golden Eagles advance to the semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m.
CSI shot 49 percent from the field to gradually pull away from Western Wyoming Thursday.
Jalen Lyn led the Golden Eagles with 26 points and four rebounds.
Nathan Ahner added 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Building on his consistency the first weekend,
Ace Reiser had another solid night, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Both big men
Charlie Dimmock and
Kyah Farris-White had eight points and three points.
Kobe Kesler finished with seven points, three rebounds and three blocks off the bench for CSI.
The schedule for Friday has McCook taking on Casper College at noon, Columbia Basin playing Western Wyoming at 2 p.m. and Eastern Florida playing North Idaho at 5 p.m. The Golden Eagles will play Clarendon at 7 p.m. for a chance in the championship Saturday.
