The 16th-ranked CSI Men's basketball team dropped their first conference game to top ranked Snow College 110-82 on Saturday afternoon.
The #1-ranked team in the country looked the part Saturday afternoon as they blitzed the Golden Eagles by pouring in 15 of their 30 three point attempts, never allowing Southern Idaho a chance to mount a comeback. The Golden Eagles were also plagued by 22 turnovers, and shot only 30% from deep, going 6-20. All ten CSI players who entered the game added to the scoring column, led by
Khayri Dunn, who continued his hot stretch with 17 points.
Walker Timme,
Tanner Hayhurst, and
Marcus Fizer Jr. all finished in double figures as well with 11 points, 10 points, and 10 points, respectively. Hayhurst also led the way on the glass with seven rebounds. The loss marks the first for the Golden Eagles in conference play as they move to 4-1 in Region 18 the first time through the conference. Each team in Region 18 will play each other three times this season, and CSI will begin their second time through, as they take on Salt Lake CC, Thursday, January 23rd, down in Utah.
