ROSWELL, N.M. - The 13th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team battled but came up just short, falling to Pima 16-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 and Dodge City 24-26, 25-16, 19-25, 25-22, 15-11 Saturday on the final day of the NMMI Invitational Tournament.
Against Dodge City,
Kelsy Stanger,
Jada Thomas-Swinson and
Mina Benucci each had four blocks. Benucci added12 kills and Thomas-Swinson added eight. Defensively,
Hazuna Akishige led CSI with 17 digs.
Addison Hoover had 15.
In the Pima match,
Dorina Bogar finished with three service aces Benucci had seven blocks and Stanger four. Offensively,
Isabel Smart had 11 kills and Thomas-Swinson added eight.
"Overall it was a great day of growth," said CSI Head Coach Andria Harsman. "Not the outcome we wanted regarding losses but in preseason the amount of gains we've accomplished in the last 24 hours is promising."
CSI, 1-3, travels to Salt Lake CC next week for another tournament.
