TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball squeaked out a 3-2 win in game one before run ruling the Spartans 12-2 in game two Friday of the Scenic West Athletic Conference weekend series.
The Golden Eagles trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth in game one when CSI rallied to take the lead.
With two outs,
Tyler Vance homered to tie the game. Both
Brody Duvall and
Jack Ryan walked before
Eliot Jones knocked a single to center field for the go-ahead run.
Jones finished the game 1-for-1 with two hit by pitches. Barker was 1-for-1 and Vance was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and one RBI.
Ashton Johnson earned the win on the mound, going four innings and giving up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
Brennen Chappell got the save, pitching the final innings and giving up no runs on one hit with one strikeout.
Game two was all CSI.
Jones stayed hot, going 3-for-4 with a double, grand slam and six RBI.
Kaden Schuck had a triple and
Colby Carter was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Barker was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI and
Brody Duvall was 2-for-3.
Garrett Miller got the win, pitching all six innings and giving up two runs on eight hits with five strikeouts.
CSI hosts Colorado Northwestern again for a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m.
