SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 15th-ranked College of Southern Idaho started the game hot from the field but 20th-ranked Salt Lake clawed its way back into the game, ultimately winning 70-64 Thursday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles took the 22-16 lead after the first quarter, shooting 50 percent from the field. But they struggled to get points in the second and third quarter, scoring just 22 total in those two quarters, while giving up 36 points defensively.
Kaylee Headrick led CSI with 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Jayden McNeal added 16 points and
Jamisyn Heaton finished with seven points and seven rebounds. In her first start of the year,
Kayla Porray posted four points, five assists and two steals.
With the loss, the Golden Eagles are now two games out of first with three games to play.
CSI travels to Snow College Saturday.
